A dismal moment, try not to think about it so many of us, so restless, a dull chapter worth skipping, mind numbing. Constantly talking, when all we really wanted to do was…
As usual perhaps, daily impressions of unremitting danger make people seek refuge in futile obsessions with furniture, food and clothing. Endless words, irritating until we stopped saying them, then sorely missed. A conjunction of multiple evils that could have been avoided, had it only been seen as profitable to do so. Nagging prevail hedonistic to the point of dulling their efficacy.
At the same time we are so lethal, so outright mean, predictable impulses never seriously dealt with due to laziness. We are so out of touch with reality, but not in a good way, not anymore… many people claim to perceive the crisis as a sudden onslaught, though that is in no way objective or justifi able.
It was the first time in history that awareness of manipulation of information could go hand in hand with incredible amounts of often valid and accurate communication: the situation, I am sorry to say, was and probably is much worse than anyone could have imagined.
An omen is a premonitory sign interpreted as a hint of future happy or unfortunate events. I have nothing against myths and legends, particularly if they have poetic qualities or are entertaining. But is it still possible to revive things that have gotten tired over time? Why should the unruly auditor always have to adapt to our whims? Below apparently and even surface lurks a foreboding that cannot be escaped.
UNSPOKEN
We live in a time when the agency of the creator is rapidly losing its importance and the agency of the user or consumer, the auditor, the hearer, becomes paramount. It is a struggle of will, of volition, striving to be active, not passive. It is also a question of critical mass, hyper- ubiquity, surplus, overkill, economics, ecology. Of excess quantity and – in many ways – of excess quality, not any lack thereof. (Steve Piccolo)
